Description

No lasting physical injuries. High functioning autistic young woman in pretrial detention. Client was tiny (110 lbs) but had boisterous and unfiltered personality that repeatedly triggered jailors. Tort claim alleged multiple deployments of restraint chair as punishment and for double the manufacturer’s recommended time limit. One hair hold attack where jailer slammed her to concrete floor while cuffed behind back. Just bruises and small tooth chip. Alleged jail has practice of “assembling a team” to place detainees in the chair. This team attack triggers panic in high functioning autism. Also, the hair slam jailor recently pleaded to some lesser variation of the custodial rape with which she was charged (different prisoner was victim).

Tort claim TC-CAL053019.

Assessment

Without even filing a complaint, it makes me wonder if it was worth way more. However, the defense team accidentally communicated through the mediator that they believed I already had the video. I had bluffed about how shocking the video was, but the public records officer was holding it under a public records act exemption!

Not really at this point, but we did demand an apology and got a nice lawyerly promise to have a chat with the jail staff.
